Barrel racing is not something we’ve ever been into, but we know a bunch of people who absolutely love it! When asked what our thoughts on a carbon saddle for barrel racing were… we said “WHY NOT!”
Western saddles weigh a ton, and personally I don’t think theres anything special about them at all. Heavy, made of the same materials as they were 100’s of years ago, and I think it’s time we tried to do better. Utilising the same open shoulder of our other saddles, these really lock you in place and offer a dirty great horn to hang off. But the biggest advantage…
Total weight on the horse will be under 5kg including your saddle blanket! That saving of a good 15kg… could be a race winner!
Are we qualified to even do this?
Well… I guess that depends who you ask. We don’t barrel race, but we know how to stay in the saddle; and with a horses as powerful and aggressive as mine as a “daily driver”, I’ve got a dam good idea how to stay in the saddle. So yes, we are qualified in that regard, but more importantly we LISTEN to those that know a hell of a lot more than us and have designs in testing as we speak!
Shipping costs are not included as they vary greatly and are additional. Buyer may choose shipping type and preferred carrier. A 30% deposit is required at the time of ordering of which a full refund will be given if we are unable to complete your order. Balance of payment is required prior to shipping, and due to the complicated nature of construction, time frame for delivery can be up to three months so booking in advance is advised. VAT is additional, as is a 5% surcharge when dealing with countries outside of the EU due to the complicated nature of shipping and additional paper work.
